Mount Meru (4,566m) is Africa's fifth highest peak and a spectacular climb in its own right. Located inside Arusha National Park, the ascent passes through lush rainforest, open moorland, and dramatic volcanic scenery.
The summit offers breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro on clear days. Many climbers use Meru as acclimatisation training before attempting Kilimanjaro.
June–February offers the best conditions. March–May is the rainy season and less ideal.
