Safari Blue

Safari Blue is Zanzibar's most celebrated full-day ocean excursion, departing from Fumba village on the southwest coast. You board a traditional wooden dhow and sail into the turquoise waters of Menai Bay — a protected marine conservation area teeming with dolphins, sea turtles, and colourful reef fish.

The day includes snorkeling over pristine coral reefs, swimming at a stunning sandbank that appears and disappears with the tide, and a freshly prepared seafood lunch served on a deserted beach — grilled fish, octopus, calamari, and tropical fruits.

Menai Bay Conservation Area was established in 1997 and is one of the most biodiverse marine ecosystems in the western Indian Ocean. The bay is home to dugongs, humpback dolphins, and over 400 species of fish.
